Forum terms
and conditions of use:
If you don't accept these terms and conditions of use, don't register a
forum account, don't post and please leave the forum.
1. This is a kilt forum:
A kilt is about knee length, pleated on the rear side and the aprons on
the front side overlap. The most common and well known type of kilt is
the traditional tartan kilt. Contemporary kilts like: Utilikilts,
UnionKilts, Freedom Kilts, R-Kilts, TFCKilts are also kilts. Skirts,
sarongs etc. are not kilts and don't belong on this forum.
2. It's forbidden to:
Create, host or transmit any defamatory, offensive, or obscene material
or engaging in activities which would cause offence to others on grounds
of race, religion, creed, sexual orientation or sex.
3. It's forbidden to:
Create, host or transmit any material that threatens or encourages
bodily harm or the destruction of property or would constitute a
criminal offence or give rise to civil liability.
4. It's forbidden to:
Make false, misleading, deceptive or fraudulent offers to sell or buy
products, items or services or to send chain letters or pyramid schemes
and the like.
5. It's forbidden to:
Collect, or attempt to collect, personal information about third parties
without their knowledge or consent or to engage in screen scraping,
database scraping or any other activity with the purpose of obtaining
lists of users or other data.
6. Family friendly forum:
This is a family friendly forum, but it's not a kindergarten.
Forum members must be 16 years or older. As a rule of thumb, don't post
(be it text, images, links, video or whatever) anything not suitable for
people 16 years of age.
7. Behaviour and attitude:
Always be friendly, courteous and supportive to other forum members.
Don't start a fight, don't join a fight either.
8. About religion:
We all have different beliefs. This is a kilt forum; religious threads
are not allowed, prayer requests are not allowed either. There are
several other forums on the web for religious discussion.
9. About politics:
Political discussions are not allowed. There are several other forums on
the web for political discussion.
Exception: When politics affect kilt wearing, kilt-makers, kilt
accessories, scotch whisky or Scottish tourism; it's appropriate to
discuss the political issue. Always keep it friendly, respectful and on
topic.
10. About weapons:
This is a kilt forum; discussions and pictures of weapons are not
allowed.
Exception: the sgian dubh and highland dirk as an ornamental part of the
highland dress are appropriate subjects to be discussed on a kilt forum.
11. Personal problems and health problems:
Sadly we all have problems, but this forum is not the place to find a
solution.
When you have a health problem it's perfectly fine to mention it in the
off topic forum.
When your cat, neighbour or aunt has a health problem, it is very sad,
but this is not an appropriate place to discuss it.
12. Stay on topic:
Please stay on topic, don't hijack a thread. Also (try to) post in the
appropriate forum.
13. Spam:
Don't spam, thank you!
14. Nudity and Pornography (also see rule 2 and 6):
Pornographic material and links to pornography are forbidden. Nudity is
not pornography and we do not feel that the human body is in any way
obscene. Therefore nudity it allowed as long as it is relevant and
appropriate to a kilt site and to persons at least 16 years old.
This is not a "hunk" site or a "babe" site, it is a kilt site; photos
need to stay on topic. A picture of a kilt blown up by the wind once in
a while is fine but don't get carried away. Discussions about the
"what's under the kilt" are also appropriate, but keep it decent.
Again...keep in mind what you post must be suitable for people 16 years
of age. Moderators will delete photos that cross the line and the poster
will be warned.
15. Commercial issues:
When people "dash in" to promote their products or services, the post
will be deleted and the poster will receive a warning or be banned.
Established members can mention or show their kilt related products once
in a while, but not too often. This forum should not become a commercial
platform for vendors.
Advertisers/sponsors are considered "Established members" without
further privileges.
16. Avatars and signatures:
Forum members can create a personal signature and use an avatar.
You may use text, links (1 commercial link maximum) and a small banner.
Commercial banners are not allowed in your signature.
Keep your signature small and tidy please. The forum software limits the display
of signatures to a height of 90 pixels, that's about 6 lines of size 2
text. Larger signatures will be cropped automatically. Avatars are
limited to 100x100 pixels.
17. Issues not covered by the rules:
No set of rules is watertight, the forum owner or moderators will decide
on issues not covered by the rules.
18. Rules might change:
These rules might change or new rules may be added.
When this happens it will be announced.
19. Most important rule:
Have fun! |
